Used Jewelry Fundraiser

Calling all jewelry lovers, crafters and treasure collectors!
The Marion Friends of the Library will be hosting a gently used jewelry and purse sale on Fri. April 20 and Sat. April 21.

We are currently seeking donations of used jewelry, scarves and purses in very good condition. Thank you for your support!

Book & Pie Sale

Please support our annual book and pie sale to benefit the Marion Friends of the Library.

 Friday, October 21 

10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

and

 Saturday, October 22 

9:00 AM - Noon

  • Volunteers are needed to work a short shift at the book sale and/or to bake.  Visit the library, call 926-4933 or email twhitney@pls-net.org to learn more about volunteering.

  • This is the major fundraiser for the group, which provides funding for the library’s annual summer reading program.

  • We are currently accepting donations of books in very good condition for the sale.  Please, no encyclopedias, old text books or outdated reference materials.

Summer Reading, Week IV

Summer Reading is not just for kids. Join us Monday evening for a wine tasting presented by Young Sommer Winery.

This week's events:
  • Monday, July 25 - WineTasting, 7:00 PM - $3 per person donation requested to benefit the Friends of the Library.
  • Tuesday, July 19 - Craft-N-Snack, 2:30-4:00 PM
    Visiting China: Panda Bear Puppets!  This is an open house style program. Parents, please stay as this is a quick come and go project.
  • Wednesday, July 20 - PJ Storytime, 7:00-7:30 PM 
                                          Knot Only Knitters, 6:30-8:30 PM  All are welcome.
  • Friday, July 22 - Movie Day - Madagascar (pg),  2:30-4:00 PM

Next week, Monday Aug 1 at 7:00 PM the Marion Library proudly presents Didgeridoo Down Under!

    Sign Up For Summer Reading 2011

    One World, Many Stories

    Sign ups will continue through July 1. 


    Children will receive a bag with goodies and have their picture taken for our display of summer readers in the library.

    This summer Marion Elementary students with library cards may use our  public access computers to take AR tests for school and will receive a treat for each test taken.

    Looking Good


    Thank you to those who volunteered this Saturday for our annual spring clean up of the library grounds, with special recognition to the Marion Lions Club, Marion Cub Scouts and our Friends of the Library.     Summer Reading Salute!

    We have finished another great season of SUMMER READING! Thank you for participating in our library's Make a Splash! and Make Waves programs. These events are made possible by our Friends of the Library Group. Are you a member?




    Very special thanks go to the Sturtz's and Amalia VanHall of GS Troop #327 for helping with craft-n-snack time, Amanda Ebert for her enthusiastic creativity and Gyotaku program, and to Chrissy & Zacharay Nelson for making Lego Day a huge success!
    Thank you to Judy Casler, Mark's Pizza, Cam's Pizza and PJ's Ice Cream for generous donations for our summer reading weekly prize drawings.

    Sign Up For Summer Reading

    Visit the library from June 23 - July 2 to sign up for our FREE summer reading program with activities for kids of all ages. Participants will receive a themed tote bag with goodies, a calendar of events and have their picture taken for our summer display.

      For storytime this week children are invited to wear a costume for a little Halloween fun.

      I would like to thank the community for a successful book and pie sale! Your support of the Marion Friends of the Library group is much appreciated. Thank you to those who donated and/or purchased books, and to those who baked delicious pies or other goodies. And of course, thanks to those folks who bought and ate them! : )
