Spring Programs For Children

New this month - Baby Signing Time. Preregistration for this program is strongly encouraged. Join us for a 4-week program by certified instructor, Lisa Perry - to offer fun, loving, educational sign language classes to children aged 0 - 36 months and their caregivers. Classes begin Monday April 15.

Purse, Scarf & Jewelry Fundraiser

Calling all jewelry lovers, crafters and treasure collectors!
The Marion Friends of the Library group is putting together our second annual sale in the library.
April 19th & 20th during regular library hours.

We are currently seeking donations of used jewelry, scarves and purses in like-new condition. 
Thank you for your support. Last year's sale was a big success, with many treasures to be found. Details and dates for this year's fundraiser coming soon.

Spring Garden Tasks Program

Blind Date With a Book

      During the entire month of February you can have a mysterious assignation - or as many as you like. If you’re up for a rendezvous, all you have to do is check out one of the books on display. They are all wrapped in gold paper, and you won’t know the identity of your blind date until you check out. Will it be fiction or non-fiction? Funny, informative, entertaining, or heart-breaking?  
     Get to know your date. There will be no uncomfortable questions to answer, no awkward lulls in the conversation, no need to even get out of your PJ's! Sure, you might be disappointed, but you may end up having a great time with something you would otherwise never have ventured to read.

     Each book comes with a ‘Rate Your Blind Date’ slip: if you’re so inclined, you can say whatever you want about it.

     Even if your date turns out to be a dud, (don’t worry; its feelings won’t be hurt), all is not lost! With each slip you return, you can enter a raffle. One lucky Blind Dater will win a prize from Roses in the Hedgerow. You might get lucky; if not in love then perhaps in literature.
