Community Make-a-Square project
Volunteers will join squares together to make soft, warm, colorful twin bed-sized blankets.
Please use soft acrylic yarns
for non-allergenic properties and ease of care in washing/drying. Making
the squares as consistent in size (8x8”) and weight (worsted yarn) as
possible helps volunteers to join the squares quickly and easily into
blankets.
Get creative: If you know how
to knit and/or crochet and enjoy working with different stitches, or a
combination of stitches and patterns, then please feel free to be
creative with your squares, as long as the finished square measures
8x8”.
Visit the library for more details and take-home instructions.

November
In
honor of Veterans Day we would like to display military photos of local
service men and women. Please bring photos, which can be returned, of
your beloved veterans - whether they depict family members, friends, or
yourself - to the library between now and Nov. 9.
We
would like the display to contain as many photos as possible --- and
from as many eras as possible. So whether it is a person currently
serving, or someone in the distant past ---- we want to honor them.
The library will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.
The Angel Tree will be in the library starting Monday, November 18, 2013 Angels may be chosen, gifts purchased, wrapped and returned to the Marion Public Library no later than Thursday, December 12, 2013.
